DESQ recently attended the 2007 MELT launch event and entered their Wii competition. Heres what MELT had to say about us. "Thanks
to all the companies and individual competitors who entered the
Melt/Nintendo Wii Bowling contest. The final head to head was between
Kieran Collins from DESQ and Phil Sheppard from Creative Clusters. The
scores on the doors were 249 from Kieran and 195 from Phil.
Congratulations to Kieran who proved that DESQ really do have the
hottest wrist action in South Yorkshire."
MELT gives
annual research and development (R&D) awards of up to £50,000 to
leading artistic, media and technical talent to explore the creative
and economic possibilities of innovative content for new and emerging
media platforms.
DESQ are an awardee of MELT funding and
are currently developing Earth Heart with Steve Manthorp. EarthHeart is
a healthy lifestyle learning game played collaboratively by a Key Stage
2 class, who trade real-life achievements in healthy eating and
exercise in order nurture and sustain a virtual island with fantasy
plants and creatures.
